On the 10th, Samsung held a Galaxy A8s new product launch conference in Beijing and released the first mobile phone screen design in the mobile phone circle . In two days, Huawei Nova4's digging screen phone will also officially debut. Today we will analyze this digging screen which is about to become popular now.
Let's first talk about the Samsung Galaxy A8s' digging screen. Officially, this design uses Samsung's unique structure and packaging process. As can be seen from the figure, the camera is integrated with the body. There are three layers on the outside of the camera, from the inside to the outside, the BLU backlight layer, the LTPS liquid crystal layer and the 2.5D glass panel.
Samsung ’s camera is located in the upper left corner, and it uses a “through hole” technology to make the screen into a digging screen. To achieve this effect, this time the Samsung Galaxy A8s uses an LCD screen. There are currently two methods of digging screens, "blind holes" and "through holes".
What is a "blind hole"? Just place the camera below the screen. The "through hole" is a hole in the screen, and the camera runs through the entire screen. "Through holes" and "blind holes" are relatively simple in terms of technology. They reduce the screen's occlusion. The camera does not need to consider the impact of light on the screen after it enters from the outside. Blocking the front camera, which is more advantageous when taking photos to get light. Therefore, we only need to consider the connection between the screen hole and the camera intact, and the imaging effect of the screen will not have problems such as gaps and unnatural connection. But there is also a problem that the visual integrity of the "through hole" is much worse. Because there is no need to consider the effect of the screen on the camera, the hole punched on the screen by the "through hole" will be larger than the camera itself, which is larger than the aperture of the "blind hole" hidden under the screen.
Compared with "through holes", "blind holes" are more visually integrated, but they are relatively more difficult to implement. Because the camera is hidden under the screen, the mobile phone must take into account the transmittance and color cast of light through the screen.
To sum up, the current digging screen technology has nothing to criticize. Both digging methods have advantages and disadvantages.
